Benedikt spent six months as an intern in Corporate Communications at Jungheinrich's headquarters in Hamburg. In his internship report, he looks back on this time and draws a conclusion.
My name is Benedikt and I'm a Master's student at Ansbach University of Applied Sciences, studying PR and Corporate Communications. And that's exactly where I did my internship at Jungheinrich: in Corporate Communications.
I hoped that the internship would give me a comprehensive insight into different areas of communication in a major company. And I was given exactly this opportunity by supporting the whole team with various tasks. In addition to my main responsibilities, such as maintaining the intranet, writing news articles and proofreading publications, I was also able to take part in film projects, help publish business figures and plan the Annual General Meeting. I gained a great insight into the workings of an international stock corporation and was able to apply my knowledge from my studies on a regular basis.
During my internship, I felt like part of the team and felt that my colleagues had confidence in me and my abilities. I also received regular feedback that my work was appreciated. One special task for me was taking part in an interview with a Ukrainian colleague. She told us about her everyday life during the war. I summarized her statements in an article. That was an impressive experience - not just in the context of the internship.
My internship at Jungheinrich was exactly what I was hoping for: I was able to experience and work in all areas. I got an impression of how the content of my studies is implemented "on a large scale". For me, it was the right internship at the right time and, looking back, I would definitely do it again.
