High-bay warehouse with three temperature zones
Complete intralogistics solution from Jungheinrich
Confectionary manufacturer Ferrero is building a new automated logistics centre at its Villers-Ecalles site near the northern French city of Rouen. For the implementation of the project, the Ferrero Group has commissioned Hamburg logistics expert and general contractor Jungheinrich, who supplies the entire intralogistics solution from a single source. The 59-metre high-bay warehouse in silo construction has eight aisles and a total capacity of 18,630 pallet positions. The eight aisle-linked rack operating devices from Jungheinrich are equipped with telescopic forks and are capable of double-depth stacking and retrieval on 13 levels. Jungheinrich also supplies a logistics solution for the automatic loading and unloading of trucks. Conveyor technology connects the different functional areas. The automated components are connected directly to Ferrero's Warehouse Management System using Jungheinrich control technology. Franck Verween, Head of Logistics Systems at Jungheinrich France explains: "This system was designed for particularly high throughputs. The fact that the warehouse consists of a total of three different temperature zones is particularly unique." Commissioning of the system is scheduled for early 2019.
