It goes without saying that Jungheinrich provides its employees with the necessary safety equipment. All close personal contact between employees and their customers or colleagues is systematically recorded in the event that information and follow-up should be required.
We take the current situation very seriously. An internal crisis team was convened with the task of drawing up and initiating all steps including preventive measures. In addition, information is provided regularly about necessary hygiene measures. In the affected areas, the management teams are in close contact with local authorities and implement all necessary measures.
Jungheinrich has been offering its employees the option to work from home since 16 March 2020, where the role allows. Any company equipment provided may of course be taken home and used. Our employees are also required to keep their presence in the office to a minimum while the number of infections remains high.
Jungheinrich decided back in March 2020 to give employees who live with children requiring care and who are affected by the closure of a school or childcare in their federal state 10 extra days of voluntary family leave. Of course, our employees also have the option of applying for statutory child sickness days and compensation provided by the local authority under the Infection Protection Act and, if possible, taking advantage of the flexitime system.

To protect our employees and applicants, we also use strict hygiene and safety precautions during the selection process. In fact, much of the selection process takes place virtually. However, since we value personal contact with our applicants, the final stage will usually be a face-to-face meeting on site, subject to strict conditions.
The onboarding process varies according to the location and division but is subject to the strictest safety and hygiene measures.

We also offer internship opportunities at many of our locations and in various divisions. All vacant positions can be found on our job page with the option to apply online. Depending on the applicable regulations, the training and completion of the internship takes place remotely or on site with strict hygiene measures in place.
