Jungheinrich presents new electric pedestrian stacker series

Jungheinrich presents its new EJC 1i series of electric pedestrian stackers at LogiMAT 2024 . Thanks to the use of lithium-ion batteries and a new truck design, the trucks are characterised by their particularly compact size and significantly increased residual capacity and performance.

  • Ultra-compact thanks to 100 % lithium-ion technology
  • New truck geometry enables significantly higher residual capacity
  • Increased performance thanks to higher lifting and lowering speed

Stuttgart - Hand-operated electric high-lift trucks are used in almost every business. In particular, small and medium-sized companies, retail outlets or production and craft businesses with limited storage and working space rely on this truck segment. At LogiMAT 2024 in Stuttgart, Jungheinrich is presenting a completely revised new edition of its electric pedestrian-controlled stacker truck series in the entry-level segment for this customer group. For the first time, the company is also consistently focussing on the use of state-of-the-art lithium-ion technology in this truck class. In addition to the familiar advantages such as fast and intermediate charging capability, maintenance-free operation and sustainability, the trucks in the new EJC 1i series benefit above all from the high energy density of the lithium-ion batteries. Instead of a large energy storage unit, as is still necessary with lead-acid batteries, Jungheinrich has succeeded in accommodating the same amount of energy in a much smaller battery module within the truck to save space. Jungheinrich's engineers have fully utilised the resulting design leeway. The XS version of the EJC 112i with 100 Ah battery, for example, has an L2 dimension of only 604 mm. That is 68 mm less than the most compact version of the predecessor model. Even with a large 200 Ah battery, the new EJC 112i remains more compact with an L2 dimension of 654 mm. Especially in narrow aisles and storage areas, the result is an impressive turning radius that enables even inexperienced users to manoeuvre the vehicles in the EJC 1i series easily, precisely and safely. Another contributing factor is that Jungheinrich has considerably reduced the overall height of the new electric pedestrian stackers, thus significantly improving visibility of the forks, load and working environment.

Although the trucks in the EJC 1i series are considerably more compact and smaller than their predecessor models, Jungheinrich has once again succeeded in significantly improving their stability. This has been made possible by intelligent weight distribution within the truck chassis and the associated optimisation of the truck's centre of gravity as well as the use of new mast profiles. The result is a considerable increase in residual load capacity of up to 250 kg or 62.5 per cent. Thanks to a more powerful pump, the new stacker trucks also have a lifting speed that is around 50 per cent faster. In addition, Jungheinrich has significantly increased the lowering speed. "The smaller and lighter the battery and truck, the lower the stability and therefore the residual load capacity – this rule no longer applies. With our EJC 1i series, we have succeeded in achieving a combination of compactness and performance that is unrivalled in this segment," explains Jungheinrich Chief Sales Officer Christian Erlach.

The trucks in the EJC 1i series are available with lithium-ion batteries in five different capacities: 50 Ah, 100 Ah, 105 Ah, 150 Ah and 200 Ah. All models are equipped with built-in chargers for flexible charging at any socket. You can choose from different power classes 15A, 35A or 70A. This enables flexible adaptation to the respective application requirements.

Jungheinrich offers its EJC 1i series with a wide range of different variants. These include the EJC 110i/112i as a standard truck, which can transport loads of up to 1,200 kg and can be ordered with a lifting height of up to 4.70 metres. Jungheinrich also offers the EJC 110zi/112zi model variant with additional lift, in which the wheel arms can be lifted in addition to the forks. The additional lift has a load capacity of up to 1,600 kg. For simple stacking tasks, Jungheinrich is also launching a model variant with mono mast again, which achieves lifting heights of up to 2.00 m with a tonnage of up to 1,000 kg. An additional wide-track version is suitable for handling special load carriers, closed pallets and the transverse transport of Euro pallets. With a special focus on online sales, Jungheinrich has designed the pre-configured and therefore quickly available EJC 010i for light and occasional applications. It can transport loads of up to 1,000 kg and reaches lifting heights of up to 3.60 metres.
